Glass that faces the bush
The northern and eastern edge of St Ives backs onto Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park. Glass that looks at trees rather than neighbours rarely needs privacy film. It needs the heat and glare handled, and the view kept, so we lean toward clear and low-reflective film there.

Heritage, council and the front of the house
St Ives is in Ku-ring-gai, and Ku-ring-gai Council keeps a list of heritage items and heritage conservation areas. If your house is on that list, or you are not sure, ask council before changing how the street front looks.
Film on the inside of the glass does not replace a pane, and it can come off again. On a street front we suggest low-reflective film so the house looks the same from the footpath. Whether film needs consent is council's call, and we do not make it for them.

Is my house in a heritage conservation area?
Council can tell you. Ku-ring-gai Council publishes its conservation areas and heritage items, and it is worth checking before any change to the front of the house.
Can you just do the study window?
Yes. One window is a real job, and it gets the same measure as a pavilion.
Our back room faces the park. Do we need privacy film?
Usually not. Bush-facing glass tends to need heat and glare film with the view kept. We look at it on the measure.
